Propbase (propbase.in)
This Privacy Policy explains how Propbase (“Propbase”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, shares and protects information when you use the Propbase mobile application, the propbase.in website, and related services (together, the “Platform”). Propbase is a business-to-business platform for real estate professionals — brokers, property owners, builders and developers. By using the Platform, you agree to this Policy.
We have written this Policy to be read, not skimmed. It is short because our data practices are simple.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide:
- Account information: your name, mobile number, firm name, role (broker/owner), city, and optional profile details such as tagline, specializations and localities served.
- Listings: property details you submit (project/society, location, configuration, area, price, floor, photos and similar details) and, as part of a listing, your contact number for other professionals to reach you.
- Requirements: property requirements you post (city, property type, budget, locality, notes).
- Communications: messages you send us, including feedback, support requests, and listings or content you share with us over WhatsApp or other channels.
Information collected automatically:
- Usage data: how you use the Platform — screens viewed, listings viewed, searches and filters, features used, and similar interaction events.
- Device data: device identifiers, device model, operating system, app version, language, and approximate region. We use a device identifier to operate free-usage limits before account creation.
- Log and diagnostic data: crash reports and performance diagnostics (collected via Sentry) and standard server logs (IP address, timestamps, request data).
Information from other sources:
- Publicly posted listings (“community listings”): Propbase aggregates property listings that real estate professionals have themselves publicly posted in broker forums, groups and channels, including the listing details and the contact number the poster attached for business contact. We label such listings as community-sourced. If a listing with your contact number appears on Propbase, you may claim it (free, by verifying your number) to manage it, or request its removal at any time (see Section 8).
- Public and government records: project and builder information from public sources such as RERA registrations.
We do not collect financial account details, government ID numbers, or precise GPS location. We do not access your contact book.
2. How We Use Information
- To operate the Platform: create your account (phone OTP verification), display listings and requirements, match requirements with listings, and show listing performance (e.g., view counts) to listing owners.
- To enable professional contact: see Section 3.
- To send service communications: OTPs, transactional and service messages by SMS and/or WhatsApp (e.g., listing claims, matches, verification reminders). By creating an account or submitting your number you consent to receiving such service communications. Marketing communications, if any, will honor opt-out.
- To improve the Platform: aggregated analytics, debugging, abuse prevention and security.
- To enforce our Terms and comply with law.
3. How Contact Information Is Shared (Important)
Propbase’s core function is connecting real estate professionals. Accordingly:
- When you post or claim a listing, your name, firm and contact number are shared with verified Platform users who choose to unlock your contact for that listing or requirement.
- When you unlock another user’s contact, that user may see that their contact was viewed, along with limited context (e.g., your name or the listing/requirement involved).
- Contact reveals are metered and logged to prevent abuse.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your contact information with advertisers.
4. Other Sharing
We share information only with:
- Service providers who process data on our behalf: cloud hosting and database (Supabase), SMS/WhatsApp delivery (e.g., MSG91), crash and error reporting (Sentry), and app distribution (Google Play). Each is bound to use data only to provide their service.
- Legal and safety: where required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety and integrity of the Platform and its users.
- Business transfers: if Propbase’s business is transferred or reorganized (including incorporation of the business into a company), your information may be transferred to the successor entity under this same Policy.
5. Data Retention
We retain account and listing data while your account is active. Expired or deactivated listings are retained in deactivated form for record-keeping and abuse prevention. Analytics events and logs are retained for a limited period and then deleted or aggregated. On account deletion (Section 8), we delete or anonymize your personal information, retaining only what we must for legal compliance, dispute resolution and fraud prevention.
6. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards: encrypted transport (HTTPS), access controls and row-level security on our databases, OTP-based authentication, and rate limiting. No system is perfectly secure; please protect access to your phone number, which is your login credential. We will notify affected users and authorities of personal data breaches as required by applicable law.
7. Your Rights
Subject to applicable law (including India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023), you may:
- Access and correct your information (most of it directly in the app via Profile → Edit).
- Delete your account in the app (Profile → Settings → Delete Account) or by visiting propbase.in/delete-account.
- Remove a community-sourced listing bearing your contact number, whether or not you have an account.
- Withdraw consent to non-essential communications.
- Raise a grievance (Section 8). You may also nominate another individual to exercise your rights as permitted under law.

We acknowledge grievances within 72 hours and aim to resolve them within 15 days.
9. Children
The Platform is for real estate professionals and is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors; if we learn that we have, we will delete it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy as the Platform evolves. Material changes will be notified in the app or by message, and the “Last updated” date revised. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
11. Governing Law
This Policy is governed by the laws of India. Courts at New Delhi, India shall have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to Section 12 of the Terms of Service.
